Six (6) Helps on How to ROAR [ R.O.A.R.] “Reach One Accord Relationship,” by Rev. E.D. Sumbler   Project ROAR is a Lesson Message for such a time as this to promote deeper more spiritual intimacy in the Body of Christ, the “Christian Church, with God and Man. To ROAR in the Body of Christ, cannot help but lead to Revival; in the Christian Church. The following list of helpful hints, are taken from a larger writing and compilation for a later publication. But, today, there is a significant need for many Christian Church leaders: Pastors, Elders, Bishops, Deacons, Members, etc., to Relook, Rethink, and Repent some actions and conduct concerning their Christian Church Role play, past and present. Our Lord’s Kingdom Business for Kingdom Building is a most serious calling on mankind, to embrace. For too long disunity instead of unity has been the apparent role model among Christian Churches, on earth for the cause of Christ. Much too often territorial attitudes and mindsets have walled the church in and forged a competitive visible appearance among churches and Leaders. Many Congregations have become disappointed and are either falling away or outright leaving the church. The Body of Christ must and should reflect a Christ-like visibility because HE [Jesus Christ] is the builder. I encourage you to read the list of hints and let us begin a dialogue of how to ROAR in the Christian Church, the Body-Bride of Jesus Christ. 1.       R.O.A.R. stands for   Reaching One Accord Relationship with God. It is a higher next-level of Spiritual Commitment and Surrender to the Will and The Word of God. God’s Word is God’s Will, and the Will of God is Manifested and made alive in the Life of Jesus Christ. No one can attain closeness to God except through Jesus Christ, [Read, John 14:6   “Jesus says I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”]. To let the World look on You and see Jesus simply means that because Your relationship with God has Changed, it is the workings of the Holy Spirit that is alive and is leading you into a new conduct, new appearance, new attitude and new inner peace and confidence in God’s Word. These changes will come and take place in your life, in God’s good timing. Suddenly, you will realize something has happened for the good, in your faith walk with God. Folk around you will notice a change in your life’s disposition. Mainly, what folk will eventually begin to see unfolding in your life is Jesus Christ’s Handiwork brought about by the moving of the Holy Spirit’s work in your life. And, it will require your positive obedient surrender to the move of the Holy Spirit by faith to achieve life changes. It is the work of God in us that transforms us through our Wiling Mind and Open Heart to embrace the work of God. NOTE: The Apostle Paul: [Read, in Romans 12;1 ] “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Verse 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” It is adhering to the voice of the Comforting Holy Spirit (John 14:26): “ But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” And, through time spent studying the word of God; hungering, meditating, proving and thirsting for the Righteousness of God you will begin a more clearer and deeper growth and dependence on God. It becomes easier to define and embrace the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self- control.” Jesus says in Matthew 6:33 but Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. In God’s timing you begin to feel more at ease, comforted and never alone.   2.       Prayer must become a Lifestyle. Many may wish to contend that they cannot see themselves praying 24 hours a day to fulfill a definition of lifestyle prayer… and I say to you, you have clearly missed the point of lifestyle prayer. Lifestyle Prayer is the composite of your spiritual relationship and the company you keep with God. Do you talk with God, can you talk with God without opening your mouth.  Surely you should answer yes, I do it all the time. Talking with God is what we do when we are praying in our traditional posture of prayer styles. Prayer or Praise conversations should constitute a lifestyle of relationship. In other words a Christian should never become so involved with project or duty assignment that in an instant you cannot commence talking with God about a matter of concern at hand or elsewhere. And, being able to stay close and in touch with God will also allow for you to grow in tune to listen and hear from God. God speaks all of the time to the hearers but all of the time the hearers may be listening but are not hearing.         The difference is, Hearing God will generate a response or an action whereas listening may or may not generate a heartfelt serious reaction. Listening can be more time consuming, time to ponder and sort out a clearer understanding. And, sadly, just listening and never responding can be a breeding ground for excuses and reasons not to really hear and do what is being asked or said. In the book of James, Chapter 1:22 Reads …”be doers of the word and not hearers only, eceiving yourselves],…(continue Reading James, verses 23-25). People of God who embrace God can grow daily to hear God and respond to God by His Word. Now, in regards to just listening, Jesus says in John Chapter 8 verse 42…” If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me, verse 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. verse 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.”           A lifestyle of Prayer is undertaken in the mind and in the heart. It shows up in your daily life as you are going along your way in performing your daily life activities, doing your job or whatever you do in the course of a day; you are never without awareness of your communion/communication with your Heavenly Father. Spiritual Communion and lifestyle Prayer is equivalent to not being bashful or ashamed to call on God anywhere and for any situation you find yourself in need. However, be descent and in order. Loud outburst and actions to gain attention or force a belief style on someone is not definition of Lifestyle communion and prayer.  When you praise God silently, from within, you are more likely to be rewarded openly, by God. Jesus says in Matthew Chapter 6:verse 6…”when you pray, enter into thy closest, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which sees in secret shall reward thee openly. KJV 1976. A word of praise and thanksgiving to God, coming from a saved and a repentant heart is a welcome and sweet fragrance to God. Though private prayer is essential and rewarding, it does not mean that there is not a time and place where public and audible prayer is just as essential and is heard by God.   3.       Mature to Oneness in “God Talk:”   Remember, make your Prayer to be as “God Talk.”  Lifestyle Prayer is a growing spiritual relationship between God the Father and His Mankind, Creation. It is an awareness of who you are and whose you are. Communion with God unfolds in many ways and traditions:  in the lyrics of a song and played out in your mind, or play out God Talk or communion with God in the private chambers of your heart, whether in Sign Language or a beautiful choreographed or spirit lead dance of praise. Intimate communion with God may not always be heard with the onlooker’s ears. But, it can always be heard and observed for onlooker to behold in a believer’s lifestyle living God has power to fashion our appearance and make our demeanor as is suitable to Him, for HIS glory. Followers of Christ are lights to a dark lost world. We are not our own. But, when we become His again; we become His to do as He pleases unto Himself. And, as before in the beginning, HIS choice is to Reach One Accord Relationship with (us) mankind through Jesus Christ. We who become HIS by choice are expected to be one, as in intimate spiritual -oneness, with Him.  The Apostle Paul helps the Corinthian converts understand the importance of their spiritual relationship with Christ. And, it is very much applicable for us today, the Christian Church. [ Read, 1Corinthians 6:15-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a Harlot?1 Corinthians 6:15-20…   “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a Harlot? Certainly Not! Verse16  Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For the two “shall become one flesh.” But, he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. And, because we are His, HE cares for us and gives us peace of mind and the comforting assurance that our needs are met, and even our desires and wants are within our reach to have and enjoy, by faith.    4.       PATIENCE… the writer James, James Chapter 1:1 – 4, verse 4 says… But, let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Patience is a virtue, and without it you cannot please God.      Therefore, learn to have patience with one another, in the service of God. Trust God and seek the opportunity to work together outside church walls, and across denomination lines. God has blessed the work of His Christian Denominations. Much good has come forth to help humanity and mankind in many countries, households, in ways and on many shores through different Christian Denominational Outreaches. Christian Churches and Christian Outreach Ministries need financial support, prayers and wide assistance in many different ways. Therefore, look around and be willing to close ranks with other Christian Congregations and Individual Christian Groups and Outreach Ministries, to do the Will of God to Reach One Accord Relationship [R.O.A.R.] through Jesus Christ.   Reaching out to serve by Blending in and Merging alongside sister Churches for the cause of Christ ought to be a Joy. Leaders, especially, Pastors should rest their ego and humbly, serve. This visible example of Leaders serving and working together can have positive affect for the cause of Christ, on those sitting in the Pews. Simply, working in One Accord Relationship with other Christian Churches or Groups should not make you feel a sense of disloyalty to your Home Church Family, your Pastor, Your Earthly Family or Your Friends. When you are Co-laboring to do Jesus Christ Kingdom Business for Kingdom Building it makes the devil mad. Likewise, getting along as Christian Brothers and Sisters and sharing concerns for the lost and needy through Prayer, Planning and having prepared Christian Discipleship and Evangelism Training is a good thing [Studying]to the Glory of God. Different church auxiliaries and groups such as Ushers, Mission Groups Youth Groups and others could coordinate with sister church groups to meet and exchange ideas, discuss bible lessons, plan joint activities all of which to highlight a great cause for Christ. And, it should present a driving force for Relationship and Unity in the Christian Faith. Jesus instructs His disciples, and us, today; through the Model Prayer in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, verse 10…”Thy (Your) Kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”  There are some things Christians ought to be found doing right now, while on earth. Also, as Christians who are the Body of Christ, the Christian Church; and the Bride of Christ should be able to get along, praise and worship God without a problem. The Church can begin to demonstrate and show with sincerity some of the very things the Church Will spend an Eternity doing: Living in Peace, having a heart for Godly righteousness, Humble and Bold Praise of God, Joyful living, One Accord Praise and Worship, having a Quiet Confident demeanor. Developing spiritual, relativity is Learning how to… Reach One Accord Relationship [R.O.A.R].             If you are lead to assist or stand together with others who are in the Lord’s work, take the humble Christ- like initiative to not judge. First, show yourself saved as a light in the world and as salt in the earth. If for some reason you feel lead to step away from under the covering of a Christian Denomination just know that in the eyesight of God it is not a condemnation to Hell. Often traditions and customs cause conflict and disruption, but where peace does not abide you are free to step away and with Prayer trust God to heal wounds and make right the wrongs. Be forgiving and move on.   My mother, Carrie; had a saying to us Ten Siblings   “Teeth and Tongue, may fall-out ,”but when it’s meal time they work well together,” in one accord togetherness, for the common cause of life because you must eat to live. Too many Christian Organizations and Church Leaders up and down the spectrum of Christian Churches and Denominations, alike just need to…”keep working at what they too often find as difference(s), etc., and Learn how to ROAR in Jesus Christ ” unto the glory of God, our Living Lord in Jesus Christ Name, Amen.   5.       Have God within: Through Christ Jesus, our Living Lord and savior, and by the recall and guidance of the Holy Spirit; always remember, a Born Again believer’s body is the Spiritual Temple for the Living Creator and Almighty God. And, HIS desire is to live in each heart, 24/7, “cradle to the grave”. We are His workmanship and HE is more faithful to us than we are to Him. Second Corinthians 4:7 Paul declares…We have this treasure in earthen vessels. Paul is simply saying we have the spirit and love of the living God in our Hearts. It is the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, our Savior. And it is the Power of God that keeps His own in and out of every situation. The power of God overcomes whatever is a problem for us, we still are light and salt in the earth, all of which is to be unto the glory of God.   6.       Christ in You, God in Christ, a Package deal: The heighten role of Church Leadership (Bishops, Pastors, Elders, Deacons, etc.) is to effectively see… the move of God in the Body of Christ, the Church and to move with God in Christ in a way that leads the Body in the direction that God is moving. God moves in us to bring us into a deeper; more Spiritual intimate and Personally Accountable relationship with God, Himself. No doubt, God is rooting for us to let go, trust by faith, and let Him build His Church.   a.)    Leaders can be testimonial examples for those they lead to see Jesus. Exemplify dependency on God and His movement. Lead and follow after a clear, convincing move of God. This is accomplished by leading followers and congregations in cooperate prayer to hear from God. Note: Jesus said in John 5:19 “I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. Verse 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works, than these that you may marvel.”  Leaders take the lead in bringing followers more into the footsteps and practices of Jesus. This particular scripture demonstrate the level of Unity between GOD the Father and JESUS the Son. The Father’s approval is paramount for the Son to have; the Son can do nothing of Himself. The Conduct, here on display and within the Heavenly, GODHEAD Authority of God is One Accord, a unity of Commitment, Sacrifice and Surrender.  A Christian leader who fails to confess or demonstrate His / Her commitment and surrender to the Will of the Heavenly Father for direction and guidance is missing out on success.  It is understandable how many for so long have worshipped in heart, mind and soul all of which while spiritually standing at a distance from others who profess surrender and trust in the same; Godhead authority. Different Christian Church Traditions have approved for too long, the Leading of their Followers in varied channels, directions and disciplines with goals that achieve the same end results, while standing side by side along with others, of same intent; possessing the same goals purpose and reasons in attempts to accomplish and achieve the same end results. It is time for Next-Level Spiritual Intimacy with God. Too much of churching the church, preaching to folk already saved, while Satan and sin appears on the loose and are eagerly, in the ranks of leadership and going about unchecked, devouring at will. [Note: Church leaders, their followers and believers everywhere must begin to embrace the divine lesson message to ROAR. It is a bold move for the Christian Church, is Reaching One Accord Relationship, moving across denomination lines. Christian Church Leaders ought to embrace the intentionality of God in seeking One Accord Relationship between Himself and Mankind, from the very beginning.              Christian Church Leaders should often remind themselves that all eyes are on them, all of the time. Leaders, especially pastors, elders, etc. are watched from the Pulpit, the Pew and beyond the parking lot. Therefore, Church Leaders must exude the fruits of their spiritual leadership role, (read Galatia 5:22ff).Consistency in our spiritual faith relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ the Son is what empowers ability to make disciples, (read Matthew 28:19,20.) It is your indwelling spiritual closeness and communion with God that is reflected outward and shows that the Lord is with you. HIS presence in you because of Your desired intimacy of One Accord Relationship with him allow for HIM in you to attract others to Himself through you; unto the HIMSELF, in you. It is HE who makes disciples of those HE draws through His own. Critically, when Christian Church Leadership reflects having Reached One Accord Relationship, it translates; understandably, to others. And, Church Leaders can more successfully bring others in to the Next-Level of intimate walking with God, in One Accord, when this happens.  Yes, it takes some time to grow and to possess the precious peace of God, that surely does surpass understanding. But, God is author and finisher of time and His timing may vary with our timetable, but we must be convinced that His timing is always the proper time. It’s all for our good.c.) It is solely: for the “Cause of Christ,” that Christian Leaders are entrusted with the care and feeding of God’s precious souls, of mankind. Leaders must get along and love and forgive one another. And, above all, Leaders for the cause of Christ must know that everything the Word of God requires of Leaders to proclaim to those they lead, God has prepared the leader to showcase the expected conduct, required of the followers. Followers can and ought to be afforded a glimpse of what is required of them, by gazing on their Leader’s conduct. When the Leader’s life is surrendered and committed to God as required in the Christian Committal, Lifestyle Prayer, it becomes a peaceful, profound project to the glory of God.….”Learn and pray this God Given Prayer often as lead and reminded to do so by the Holy Spirit of God:   “ Lord Jesus the Christ, Stand in My body. Think with My Mind. Speak with My Mouth. Design, Fashion My Will as Thine, Let the world look on Me and See Jesus.”  Obviously, if this divinely worded prayer is taken to heart, no one will be void of seeing the Word of God in action, because One Accord Relationship requires you to become HIS for His good pleasure.  Pray to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit as your guide for you to follow to do right unto the glory of God. God will meet you where you are; by your Faith, in Him. And, by faith you walk as God gives lead. The Psalmist writes in Psalms 37:23,“ The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and HE delights in his way.”
